Commenting

We’re not creating another Ocon.  We will moderate every post following the Huffington Post’s commenting guidelines.  We don’t have Blackberries yet, so please be patient if your comment isn’t up as soon as you hit send.  Ideally, we will skip all of this when we figure out some way to insure accountability by having students verify their comments by using their ObieID.  So (until then) from the Huffington Post:

We will never censor comments based on political or ideological point of view. We only delete those comments that…

Are abusive, off-topic, or use excessive foul language

Use ad hominem attacks, including comments that celebrate the death or illness of any person, public figure or otherwise

Contain racist, sexist, homophobic, or any other slurs

Are solicitations and/or advertising for personal blogs and websites

Use thread spamming (you’ve posted this same comment elsewhere on the site)

Are posted with the explicit intention of provoking other commenters or the staff at the blog
